Loft clearance sale haul

I’ve recently become used to online shopping due to the ongoing dangers of actually shopping due to pandemic. How I’ve missed so much touching, feeling and looking at stationeries in Loft I compensate through online window shopping! Luckily, they were having a clearance sale brought out by the Bungu Fest or that yearly stationery exhibition that I badly wanted to go. I only looked through the 50% off section as we don’t like spending as much as we’d like to haha.

2017 Limited Edition box of 12 Faber-Castell pencils celebrating the 200th birthday of the Lothar von Faber, 4th gen heir. I have yet to test them on a decent paper as I plan to practice drawing again upon seeing these pencils.
Speaking of decent paper, Moleskin plain journals were on sale too! I thought I’d wanted to to get all colors that were available as I couldn’t resist the discount but I have yet to find out how it goes well with the newly purchased pencils.
The pages are perforated so you could tear away the pages if you need to. Will update in another post on writing tests on this paper.
Another paper finds that were on sale was this folding paper book that was meant for temple stamps. I’m not sure if its a thing only in Japan but I see people collect temple stamps but you have to pay some price to have it.
I didn’t expect it to be thick since I thought it was some plain nice notebook. To my surprise, each page is a thick paper much like what you’d use for watercolor kind of paper.
Between the cow and the wild boar design, I opted for the boar for a significant reminder of 2019. But then, maybe I should have gotten the green one with the cow on it for another significant year close to me.
Lastly, I got this Sakura incense because I wasn’t going to pass up for 50% on something as cute as this. I thought I’d mail this as a present to brighten someone’s mood and the sale was a perfect excuse for it.

That’s it for my recent online Loft haul. There were other things that were on the clearance sale but I only found a few things that I was interested in the 50% category.

See you on my next post about the new Midori 2021 diaries and other things I ordered from Midori online store! Stay safe everyone 🙂

Pavilio lace tapes

It’s been a while since I visited Loft since it has been raining everyday for several weeks in this rainy season. I just couldn’t find the right timing to go farther than the train station near my place. To my surprise on this spur of the moment visit (also because the weather started becoming stable), the Pavilio lace tapes were on SALE! I’ve seen them before when they first came out of Loft and I thought it was one those masking tape brand much like maste, a shortened Japanese term for masking tapes. We’re all familiar with the mt brand, which kickstarted the design masking tape trend but Pavilio is different. It is more of a sticker type tape with laser cut designs unlike the masking tapes having printed designs on the tape itself. I got one of the regular size lace tapes with a Japanese geometrical design on it and another one of the light version with yellow LED lights kind of pattern on it. I’m loving the vibrant colors in the design and the lace cut patterns and these are something you could use flexibly on any stationery, i.e., paper wrapping, invitation cards, letter envelopes, similar to masking tapes. But I think these stand out because there is a “shape” to it unlike masking tapes which are rectangular. So, I suppose I appreciate the design aspect of it and how it accentuates where you place it. Also, it peeled off easily like how masking tapes not harm paper when you remove it and that’s a plus!Let me know what you think of Pavilio lace tapes if you ever get hold of one? If not, let me know if you’d like to get hold of one as I could probably send samples. Also, you could check out their website (English available), they have an online shop! (This is not sponsored, I just like them) >> https://www.pavi.shop/

Round seals, etc.

Got to visit the dollar store again on my way to the supermarket the other day.

The Daiso brand offers round stickers that comes in several sizes and always in 5 solid colors: red, blue, yellow, green and white. First, let me introduce the extra small size which I found perfect for tracking activities.

The size is right for the 0.4cm squares in my journal where I used green one for marking the days I went out of the house. Since this planner didn’t have marks for Japanese holidays, I used the red circles to identify them instead. Next plan is to use the yellow circles to indicate the days I read a book for my reading goals in the coming year.

Then, I got one of the largest round labels to try with the 15x15mm stamps I make to see if I could make custom round stickers out of it.

Fortunately, if you set the orientation just right, the 15x15mm could be used on these to make personal round stickers, yay!

Aside from the solid color round seals, they also make ones with designs on them. They call it “Maru Seal” instead to distinguish it from the plain colored ones. I grabbed one with Hawaiian theme on it for something I could use in beach event.

Lastly, I found this spunky designed sticker flakes, which weren’t round in particular but had those quirky designs on them. For a dollar, this is a cost effective stationery item for your journal or postcards and you get lots for your buck.

With the dollar store just on the upper floor of the supermarket, it is always good not to miss a visit to find new stationery items that brings surprises.
